Andean Adventures is an eco-tourism company, which operates in Ecuador’s
Chimborazo National Park. In 2019 Andean Adventures started building scalable native tree nurseries on its land. For the duration of the pandemic, it has suspended its tourism activities and is concentrating solely on reforestation. Andean Adventures is working with local communities to produce Polylepis saplings to restore native forests in the shadow of Ecuador’s largest mountain, glacier-topped Chimborazo. In its first year, Andean Adventures planted 45,000 Polylepis trees. This year, with increased nursery capacity and community engagement, Andean Adventures is able to increase to 150,000.
